It's pretty obvious by now that Moira dela Torre has a love affair with songwriting.
For some, songwriting can be a gruesome process especially when they're occasionally in a state of writer's block. But for the 24-year-old hitmaker, 15 minutes would be enough to compose a full song. However, it can also take her days to finish one depending on its emotional weight.
Moira starts to write whenever a certain event or idea triggers an emotion in her. For example, her upcoming single "Tagpuan" was inspired by the scene from Love You To The Stars and Back where Caloy (Joshua Garcia) patiently waited for Mika (Julia Barretto) to meet him in a tower rock on top of a mountain.
"Tagpuan" tackles love and hope, and finding love again. "This song is about kung yung prayers mo laging 'bakit', nalilimutan mo na may [ibang tao na] humihiling din pala kay God para sa'yo," she explained.
Named after her new song, Moira's first ever solo concert "Tagpuan" will be held at the Kia Theater on Febrary 17 and 18. Among the special guests are her good friends Kiana Valenciano, Sam Milby, Yeng Constantino, and Inigo Pascual. Tickets for the second date are still available, so hurry up!
